VESystems CEO, Manfred Rietsch, announces new VESystems management structure
Irvine, California - April 23, 2008
I am pleased to announce that effective today, Mike Leahy is appointed to serve as COO, to direct and support the growing number of business units at VESystems. Some of you may recall that Mike joined VESystems two years ago after serving as Chief Toll Operations Officer for the TCA in Orange County, CA. Mike brings over 25 years of senior management experience to his new role as COO. In addition to his new duties, Mike will continue to serve as General Manager for our projects in Texas.
After serving effectively as COO for 7 years, our partner, Joel Bishop will now focus on strategic planning and guide the company in the public realm. We will look to Joel to explore synergistic lines of business that will broaden the enterprise base of the company.
I am also excited to announce the appointment of Sebastian Gutierrez as Director of Business Development and Marketing. Sebastian joined VESystems in 2002 as a member of the software development team. In 2006, Sebastian relocated to Austin Texas to lead VESystems’ efforts in supporting a statewide tolling back office solution for the Texas Department of Transportation.
