New I-35W MnPASS Lanes Open, Reducing Crosstown Congestion with VESystems' Dynamic Pricing

IRVINE, CA Nov. 19, 2010

An expansion of the highly successful MnPASS HOT (high occupancy toll) lane program featuring VESystems' dynamic pricing software opened this morning on the reconstructed Crosstown Highway portion of I-35W. The addition expands coverage of this all-electronic toll system to 27 road miles in the heart of the Minneapolis metropolitan area.

Federal Signal Technologies' VESystems, on the project since 2004, continues to provide its dynamic congestion pricing solution and its VTX back office application to the agency, enabling the system and staff to deliver a great customer experience. Dynamic pricing provides real-time toll price adjustments to manage traffic flow, offers motorists a best-value option to shorten commutes, and is a key component in many transportation projects underway around the globe. VESystems' solution is the first application to provide dynamic pricing in a motorist-friendly multiple ingress/egress form in the U.S.

VESystems, a full-service company dedicated to providing best-value systems and exceptional services to the transportation industry, is an integral component of the Federal Signal Technologies Group, a division of the Federal Signal Corporation.
